You okay, hun?
If you watched the World Series of Poker Main Event you’ll know it was one of the most exciting, gripping and, well, emotional experiences in recent poker history.
And it’s just the type of thing PokerOrg’s Sarah Herring has been waiting for. So many stories, from Leo Margets’ history-making run to the final table, to Kenny Hallaert’s shot at redemption following his previous near-miss, to the lovable Michael ‘The Grinder’ Mizrachi’s epic winning summer… We don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
But it seems a lot of other people do, and most have opted for the latter. Sure, we’ve seen tears of joy in the poker world before but, to coin a phrase, ‘not like that’.
In true PokerOrg Showdown fashion, three minutes is all it takes to get all caught up.
Watch the video above now to see what it’s all about.
So emotional, baby
We’re not crying, you are. And by 'you', we mean…
- The WPT's Lynn Gilmartin, watching at home in Australia
- Poker commentator Ali Nejad
- Pro player, and former Main Event runner-up, David Williams
- PokerOrg staff members who have never seen a woman reach the Main Event final table in their lifetimes (okay, we are crying after all)
And that’s all before the news that Stephen Chidwick — one of the most stoical and successful players on the circuit, with a resume and poker face that put him literally in the top two players in the world — decides the time is right to open up about the personal, mental and emotional challenges of life at the top.
It’s been quite the week. Watch above now for all the latest, or check out previous episodes below.
