The (WSOP) Showdown: Heroes and villains (and jesters)

Posted on: June 19, 2025 17:31 PDT

With three weeks of World Series of Poker action in the books, it's becoming increasingly difficult to stay abreast of all the latest stories coming out of Las Vegas.

Thankfully, PokerOrg's Sarah Herring takes you through not only all the biggest and breaking news from Sin City, but also the goings on around the broader poker community with the latest installment of The PokerOrg Showdown.

So, if you're looking for a one-stop shop for all things poker, Herring's got you covered – in just under three minutes, no less.

Color up refusal and an unpopular Kabrhel affinity

Herring may be exaggerating when she says that the chip color up fiasco involving Tyler Brown feels "like ancient history now" – but only slightly. Since the minor controversy, all manner of opinion has been shared, including a take from 2025 Poker Hall of Fame nominee Matt Savage.

After a quick shoutout to two rightfully emotional bracelet winners in David 'ODB' Baker and Philip Sternheimer, Herring veers into Martin Kabrhel's world. If you've been seeing anything from the WSOP on your various feeds in the last week, it's more than likely images and videos of Kabrhel plying his trade in the $250,000 Super High Roller.

Kabrhel has become a polarizing figure in the poker world – whether entertained or annoyed by his antics at the table, almost everyone has an opinion on this guy.

Herring's? "I love Martin Kabrhel." Polarizing, indeed.

For those who disagree with Herring's hot take, she provides an alternative form of entertainment – Doug Polk's one minute set on the popular comedy podcast Kill Tony.

And, as Herring reminds us at the close, don't forget to check out the PokerOrg Legends Lounge opening June 24.
