It’s safe to say that the online training site Octopi Poker is a great choice for those interested in solver-based poker study.
It’s still useful for less-experienced players — in fact, we have a beginners’ guide to Octopi Poker right here — but the depth of focus that can be applied also makes it a solid choice for many top pros.
That’s one reason why it tends to be priced on what may be considered the high side for recreational players; if it can help even world-beaters like Stephen Chidwick and Phil Hellmuth, it’s certainly valuable.
But this Thursday, July 30, the doors are being thrown open to all for 24 hours of free access to Octopi Professional, the pro-level subscription that usually costs $65 per month or $600 per year.
Opening The Vault to all
There’s a great reason for any poker fan to check out this free access, as Thursday will see Octopi ambassador Matt Hunt (pictured above) host a special preview of the WSOP Main Event final table.
The pro player and coach is planning to use Octopi Poker’s extensive tools to run through situations likely to occur at next week’s finale.
One of these guys will end next week with an extra $10 million.Using the actual seat draw and stack sizes for all nine returning players, Hunt will explore the solver’s take on the table dynamics, expected spots and the adjustments the final nine will need to make and be aware of.
He’ll do this through the use of Octopi Poker’s ‘The Vault’, where tricky spots can be simulated and studied. It’s how many pros work on their game, and thanks to Hunt’s upcoming walkthrough you’ll be able to see exactly how these tools can help.
And after that, you can get in there yourself to try them out and start plugging some leaks in your own game — all for the attractive price of $0.
The livestream begins at 10am PT on Thursday, and will be available for free at the Octopi Poker YouTube channel.
Free access to Octopi Professional will be available for 24 hours from 7am PT on Thursday.
