Chance Kornuth is on a heater this summer in Las Vegas. A little over a week after posting deep final-table runs in back-to-back WSOP high-roller events, including his first million-dollar payday, Kornuth ventured up the Strip to the Wynn, where he earned his fourth cash of more than $500,000 in less than four weeks' time.
Kornuth continues to hunt for his fourth WSOP bracelet win, but in the meantime, taking down the Wynn's most recent mystery bounty tourney will just have to do. Kornuth topped a 3,006-entry event in the $2,200 event to earn $537,322, including 11 knockout bounties worth $16,000 in total.
PokerOrg caught with Kornuth as he returned to the WSOP following his triumph a mile up the Strip at the Wynn. With Kornuth currently sitting fourth in the WSOP's 2023 Player of the Year race, there was a chance that he might focus solely on WSOP events for the next few weeks. But that wasn't the way he'd planned it.
"It was definitely on my schedule, if I was free on 1D [of the event] to do it," he said. "I was afraid of bagging one of the earlier flights and then not being able to play something. But it worked out pretty well and I shot over there later. I spun it up and had chips the whole time."
