The run of double-bracelet winners emerging from the domestic portion of the WSOP Online series at WSOP.com continued on Friday with veteran pro Shannon Shorr winning his second World Series of Poker gold bracelet of the series. On Friday, Shorr triumphed over a 186-player field in Event #27, $1,000 NLH Freezeout, just 11 days after winning Event #17, $2,000 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Max, to end a 17-year hunt for his first career bracelet.
Friday's victory made Shorr the fifth double-bracelet winner through 27 events of the 33-bracelet series, which is being held on WSOP.com's joint Nevada/New Jersey platform. Shorr joined Calvin Anderson, Daniel Chan, John Riordan, and Guy Dunlap as winners of two bracelet events this series. By comparison, the international WSOP Online series had no players winning two or more bracelets, though it did attract significantly larger fields, which considerably lengthened those odds.
Shorr posted a notice of his second career bracelet win on social media shortly after taking down the freezeout event:
Shorr earns another $35,000 with latest triumph
The winner's prize of $35,539.02 pales in comparison with the importance of the bracelet, and it doesn't come close to beinng near the richest wins of Shorr's prominent career. The payday moves him near the $12 million mark in lifetime tourney earnings, according to The Hendon Mob, leaving him 101st all-time in that regard.
