The penultimate event in the week-long PokerGO Tour (PGT) Sprint series, a $10,500 no-limit hold’em tourney, went the way of Andrew ‘LuckyChewy’ Lichtenberger on Tuesday. He collected $192K for his victory over a field of 60 entries.
With each event running as a single-day tournament there have been plenty of opportunities throughout the week for players to win big money, as well as pick up points for the PGT leaderboard — see below.
Lichtenberger’s first win of the series, in the 6th of the 7 scheduled events, marks his 4th cash of the week. He previously finished as runner-up to Chino Rheem in event #1, 6th in event #2 (won by Brock Wilson) and 4th in event #4 (won by Sergei Kislinskii).
Altogether, the week has seen Lichtenberger add almost $320K to live career tournament earnings of over $25M.
Lichtenberger is regarded by many as one of the game's deepest thinkers.

Back from the brink
Lichtenberger’s 4th trip of the week to the final table in the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas saw him joined by the likes of Victoria Livschitz, Alex Foxen, Brandon Wilson and event #3 winner Jesse Lonis.
Of the six players at the final table, three were dispatched by Alex Foxen which gave the well-known high-roller a commanding 10:1 chip lead over Lichtenberger when the duo reached heads-up play.
But the runaway Foxen train would soon hit the buffers. A couple of quick doubles put Lichtenberger back in contention before a back-and-forth struggle ensued that saw both players take, and lose, significant leads.
Eventually, however, Lichtenberger strung enough pots together to seize an advantage he would not relinquish. Foxen picked up $120K in his first cash of the short series.
Foxen's final table rampage ended one place too short.

Sean Winter still leads the PGT leaderboard, a rundown of 40 players who will qualify for the PGT Championship in January, a $500K invitational freeroll.
The top 40 remains unchanged after event #6, and Brock Wilson’s attack on Winter’s top spot gathered no momentum after Wilson went out on the bubble in Tuesday’s tourney.
In the top 10, below, Alex Foxen has leapfrogged Eelis Parssinen and Jeremy Ausmus into 3rd place, while Brandon Wilson has also moved up two spots to 7th.
