Until this week, Canadian Eliot Hudon had never won more than $114,000 in a live poker tournament. That win came in a 2021 WSOP Main Event cash. Tuesday night, Hudon won more than $4 million in the second-biggest $10,000 buy-in of 2022.

Hudon topped the 2,960-entry WPT World Championship at the Wynn.

"I'm more in poker for winning more than the money,” Hudon said “I don't deserve it any more than these guys. We all know how it goes. Some people have more luck in some spots."

The man from Montreal beat out online SCOOP-bracelet king Benny Glaser heads-up for the trophy. Glaser finished runner-up for $2,830,000, Jean-Claude Moussa took third for $2,095,000. Adam Adler ($1,608,000), Frank Funaro ($1,301,000) and Colton Blomberg ($1,001,500) finished 3rd-6th respectively..

The WPT filmed the final table at the Wynn Las Vegas. That show will air in early 2023 on Bally Sports.

Adam Pliska, CEO of the WPT, said, "The success of the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas was a spectacular way to commemorate 20 years of global, WPT events and the many players who have made WPT what it is today. We attempted to make this a true festival atmosphere and are so grateful for the overwhelming reception we received."
